Sophia’s 1st Moving Up Day

March 26th, 2011 chris

Our eldest child Sophia just had her first moving up ceremony today held in the club house of Lexington Village. She just finished Nursery from HATCH Education. In attendance are Myluv, Mommy Imy, Calixto, and Tito Maning. The time of the event was from 10AM to 12NN but it went on till around 12:45PM.

In the ceremony, the children had some presentations and one of those presentations they acted like commercial models. Sophia received a medal for her “Busy Bee” Award. Sophia got the award because she was always busy during classes never having an idle second.

They celebrated in Jollibee after for a Jolli-lunch.

I missed the event due to work but glad to hear everything that happened today from my lovely wife.

Great Day!

Pinugu at Vertical 8 SEO

September 5th, 2008 chris

I just found out that an article of my Software Development Blog, Pinugu.com, has been included in the SEO News page of Vertical 8 SEO, another auto SEO Linking Blog. Check out the following

http://vertical8seo.com/spiders-crawlers-and-robots-one-of-a-kind/

This is my third discovery in two days and second this day. This is getting to be scary. Or are the spiders on the article getting on me. Hmmm.. Im guessing that Linking Clever and Vertical 8 SEO belongs to the same owner. Very clever technique for SEO. Let me just research if this type of technique is legal on Google’s and Yahoo’s guidelines. Then maybe we can replicate this. Well, Domo Arigato Mr. Roboto.

Making My Development Life Easier

September 5th, 2008 chris

The following tools make my software development life easier:

1. SnagIt: Capture your digital lifestyle. Capture anything you see on the screen. Edit and combine those captures. Share them via your favorite applications. Organize and find them again later. The more you use SnagIt, the more ways you’ll find to use it. Want to get a laugh? Add a speech balloon to that photo of your cat and fire it off in an instant message. Need to make an impression at work. Capture that sales chart and point out important details with a sleek-looking arrow. SnagIt can turn a simple screenshot into a powerful information graphic. SnagIt is versatile, yet surprisingly simple.

2. Log Me In Free: It is a remote desktop application that allows you to access your PC (not Mac yet) from another PC via an Internet connection. Best of all…it’s free! It’s an invaluable resource for me, I can access my files and email at the home office.

3. FireShot: an extension for Firefox and Internet Explorer that creates and edits screenshots of web pages entirely. Press print screen and cannot grab the webpage outside of browser window? You need FireShot! Unlike other extensions, this plugin provides a set of editing and annotation tools, which let users quickly modify captures and insert text and graphical annotations. Such functionality will be especially useful for web designers, testers and content reviewers. Screenshots can be saved to disk (PNG, GIF, JPEG, BMP), printed (NEW), copied to clipboard, e-mailed and sent to external editor for further processing.

4. browsershots.org : makes screenshots of your web design in different browsers. It is a free open-source online service created by Johann C. Rocholl. When you submit your web address, it will be added to the job queue. A number of distributed computers will open your website in their browser. Then they will make screenshots and upload them to the central server.

5. WinMerge: a Windows tool for visual difference display and merging, for both files and directories. Unicode support. Flexible syntax coloring editor. Windows Shell integration. Regexp filtering. Side-by-side line diff and highlights diffs inside lines.

6. MultipleIEs: Ever wanted to test your website in various versions of Internet Explorer? It is now possible to run Internet Explorer in standalone mode without having to over-write previous versions thanks to Joe Maddalone who came up with a way of achieving that in November 2003.

7. TortoiseSVN: an easy to use SCM / source control software for Microsoft Windows and maybe the best standalone Subversion client there is. It is implemented as a Windows shell extension, which makes it integrate seamlessly into the Windows explorer. Since it’s not an integration for a specific IDE you can use it with whatever development tools you like.

Fun Shots Pictorial

August 23rd, 2008 chris

Myluv and our kids, sophia and calixto, were in Mirriam College this afternoon for Myluv’s graduation photo shootout. Myluv had been preparing for this day for two weeks now, planning how the Fun shots part of the pictorial will be taken. She has decided to include sophia and calixto for the fun shots and bought white dresses for them so they would look like little angels with their mom in the shoot. While myluv was getting her hair done by the hairdresser in Mirriam, the two little angels were manhandling their yaya who was outside the dressing room. This prompted myluv to call me for help. And I came to their rescue after 2 hours. By that time, calixto was already asleep and sophia was already tamed but not without tears in her eyes.

What a wonderful pictorial, sophia and calixto were wearing wings like their mom. They looked like a family of human white butterflies. Wishing they find a flower to park on. After the shootout and while preparing to go home, sophia wanted so badly to keep her wings. Luckily when they try to give back the wings to its owner, she happily offered to give it to sophia. Thanks a lot for making our little angel keep her wings. Now sophia can really fly high.

A Cinderella Evening

August 19th, 2008 chris

We have been waiting for this day, finally I will be again watching a live musical play since Alladin in Greenbelt 3 years ago. The day was perfect. Myluv doesn’t have a class today since it’s Quezon City Day. I’ll be coming home around 4pm and have 2 hours to get ready till we leave at 6pm to get to CCP before the 8pm show. Well, it turned out that we left the house at 7:30pm and arrived at CCP around 8:15pm. We almost didn’t get to see the first act because we were already late. Luckily we were still allowed to enter the Theater, a minute later then we would have not been that  lucky and the lady in uniform will be blocking the entrance door.

The performance was great. The cast was just around 20 people, majority are caucasians. Leah I think is just one of three or four asians in there. I liked seeing Leah better when she was wearing the normal clothes, like the clothes of a classic snow white, than the gown she wore dancing with Prince “Christopher + 10 other First names”.

Cameras were not allowed inside so we had to deposit it to the guard. We instead took pictures on the parking lot after the show.

One information I learned from this play on Cinderella’s story is that the mice were turned to horses and the rats were turned to men. I thought before, that there was another animal other than a rodent that was included in Cindy’s crew.

Another evening to remember with the company of myluv.
